La Lingerie...ooooolala...and then some!
OK ladies, apparently a good chunk of us Midwestern women are all wearing the wrong bra, and I'm not surprised. I take for granted that my little gals just fit into any ol' sport-esque bra and off I go...wrong. Even the wee ones need the proper fit, so Katherine Bice, owner of La Lingerie has a few things to say to us:
Lingerie is the hardest piece of clothing to fit correctly. "I am 34 what?" "This C cup doesn’t fit like the other bra. What do I do now?" According to Tracy M. Pfeifer, M.D., a board-certified plastic surgeon in New York City, 80% of women wear the wrong bra. From my experience in working with thousands of women in my six years in Big Box Retail and Specialty lingerie shops, that statistic seems low. Most women in the Midwest are wearing the wrong bra, and it affects their self-image, how their clothes fit, and it affects how they are viewed by the world around them. La lingerie welcomes women, of all shapes and sizes, to find beautiful lingerie that fits. Carrying sizes 30A - 40H and 44F.
Private fittings Tues - Sat. Shop open only for appointments.
Title Nine 25% off sale!
I love Title Nine for their comfortable, casual clothes and workout gear, as well as their fantastic, easy-to-jazz-up summer dresses (the built in shelf bra is ideal for someone like me who wears a bra as a formality).
So when Title Nine has a sale, I take notice, because their garments are not cheap (nor are they cheaply made), but if you don't have $60 to spend on a graphic tee, then now would be the time to shop the sale. Here are some favorites:
Check out Title Nine for more great deals, or stop in to the Hilldale Mall location just off of University Avenue in Madison:

Ragstock loves Halloween!!!
Hey you! I hope your weekend was fantastic! I am prepping for a Halloween party this weekend and then hopefully some dancin' (need to make sure my costume is flexible enough to go from party to nightclub without looking like an idiot...may do the living dead thing) .
Don't forget, if you've not prepared a costume, you may want to bypass some of the more expensive costume shops and hit up places like Ragstock, downtown Madison...you really never know what you'll find among their treasures. Check out the link to Ragstock below...it really is a "different kind of clothing store"!!

Atticus
Atticus clothing boutique for men and women, on the square, downtown Madison, currently has some noteworthy items on sale. If you've never been, go. The store is not cavernous, so you will not be overwhelmed. In regards to the garments, the focus is on quality, not quantity, so taking advantage of designer items when they are marked down is genius (I do it all the time, hence my "wall of shoes"). These are a few of my favorite things...whiskers on kittens...oh, and these things:

And if you just want to shop, screw the sales. Here's the store link. Have at it!

Let's put it into Context, shall we?
...Context Clothing, that is...on King in downtown Madison. If you are a member of "Group.on.com" (if you're not, become one)...you'll pay $50 for $100 worth of designer clothes...not a bad deal at all.
If you're too hip for "groups", then saunter on over to Context, or check out the link below to order online, and peruse the sales going on within the store. Here are some of my personal favorites:

SHOO's Goin' Vintage!!!!
We all know Shoo on State Street, downtown Madison, WI, has some of the hottest shoes in the state for both men and women, but did you know they're going vintage? That's right, Shoo is now going to carry vintage clothing!
Shoo is not your normal shoe store...it is not, and I repeat, NOT a big box shoe store (the shoes you will find at Shoo are far from "run-of-the-mill"). If the quality of shoes is any indication of the quality of vintage clothing, Madison is in for a real treat (oh, and you out-of-staters...you can shop Shoo online).
Check it!:

Wear what you love, love what you wear.
When I was four, I got my first pair of "high heels". Even though they were little plastic sandals with a scant heel, I thought they were fantastic! I look through old photos, and I see myself, Burberry-esque print polyester pants, black turtle neck, owl medallion necklace...I was four then, too. Fast-forward to high school: shaved head, blond and fire-engine red hair, purple lipstick, two different earrings...I thought I looked fabulous. College: Birkenstocks, heavy Guatemalan wool sweater, wide legged, faded jeans...again, fabulous.
My point here is that as a person changes, so does their style, and that's just fine. I think I would go insane if I couldn't keep reinventing myself through clothing (and yes, that fishing vest I donned in my early twenties wasn't popular at the moment, but a few short months later, a certain international corporation featured them as their Fall Signature Items...just sayin').
The problem that some people encounter, however, is that they change emotionally and physically but don't know how to reinvent their look to match...that's where I hope I can help.
I think that's all for now. I was going to say, "Now you don't want to be stuck still wearing....", but then realized that some of you may be perfectly happy exactly how you are...and I say, "rock on". But for those of us who crave change, let's break out our owl medallions and swim upstream!
